OZWL (Australian Warcraft League)
One of the most popular features of War2 in its heyday was the number
of leagues around. They were very popular and inspired a lot of competition.
The most popular ones included Case's Ladder, NWL, IWL and OZWL.
OZWL (Australian Warcraft League) was the world's best league. It didnt
have the most players or the best players but it was the best looking
league, and had a myriad of individual clan and member competitions and
a great community spirit in the beginning. It was primarily based around
the MPX kali server and those who frequented it, however all were welcome
to join.
A more detailed history of OZWL can be found in the history
page
OZWL was resurrected for war3 but it never took off, however I have managed
to get hold of some of the old pages of the league which i will show here.
The frameset and design is gone, as are most of the graphics, however
you can see who was top dog in the leagues and who the players were for
mid to late 1998. The links are of course all broken.
OZWL died sometime in 1999. May it live on through the preservation page.

Found an old link for the Australian Warcraft2 Championships ran by Kanga, the competition didnt actually finish but did involve most of the Australian War2 dudes, it also features a graphic done by me :). Click the link below to see the page..

I received an email from Prowler (John Creasey) about OZWL and when it
ended. John has also been good enough to sign the guestbook.
It kept going for a year or so after I stopped working on it.
I think it might have got shutdown just before the end of 1999 as I remember
thinking Ozemail probably got rid of it rather than try and ensure it
was y2k compliant.
I quit when ozemail decided they no longer wanted to pay anything for
it. It was a lot of work and by then I was glad for an excuse to get my
life back.
A bunch of guys kept it going and the dark reign league was pretty popular
right up until its death as I recall.
I found your site btw. It brought back a few memories. What a cool thing
we had going there for a while. I've often bragged about working on a
website which was one of the top ten australian games sites for over a
year.
cheers,
John.
